Thanks for following me on this 60 Before 60 journey. It has truly already been an adventure. I am adding things to my list that I had never dreamed I would add. Just a little over a week ago while speaking in Maui we took a trip to Kauai. The entire goal of the day was to see the island by helicopter.
Flying in a helicopter has never been on ANY of my lists but my husband convinced me this was the only way to see the island. I am sure my fear and anxiety came from thinking that a helicopter pilot would fly a helicopter like my son drives his drift car, fast and a little crazy. I have seen helicopter videos of the Grand Canyon and I felt sick from watching the video. I honestly could NOT imagine being in that helicopter.
But, as they say, no pain, no gain. I am SOO glad I just DECIDED this was something I would do. It was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The island was gorgeous and flying in the helicopter with Issac was smoother than any airplane experience I have on a weekly basis. We landed near the waterfalls where they filmed Jurassic Park and got to spend some time there. There is no other way to see those falls. I was instantly taken by the majesty and the beauty of that island and my fear could have cost me that experience.
Getting out of your comfort zone requires doing things you have never done before. What steps will you take to get out of your comfort zone? Having that experience showed me that I do need to expand my thinking and be willing to consider things that have never been on my bucket list. :)
